At least once a week, my friends and I will have an argument that involves ranking some category’s top-10. Say the words “What’s the best (insert anything here) of all time,” and we’re off. We’ve debated about the best cereal, the best song, and the best Christmas movie just to name a few. Right around this time last year, we made a 64-food bracket to decide the greatest food ever (ice cream sundae). We set our sights on a different sense this year—the sense of humor. We, along with your help, want to name the greatest cartoon character of all time.

Here’s how it works. See the bracket below? Click on it, and go through each “match-up”, then select which character you like more. Some characters are actually two separate beings, such as Tom and Jerry and Rocky and Bullwinkle. Treat these as one, since neither Tom nor Jerry would be anyone without the other.

All our characters were divided into 4 groups or regions—Hannah-Barbera, 1990’s-2000’s, Looney Tunes, and classics. From the four regions, one will reign supreme and earn a berth in the Funny Four[1].

Click on the bracket below, print it out, and comment with your Funny Four and your champion. Happy bracketing!

[1] My Funny Four is as follows: Yogi Bear, Patrick Star, Bugs Bunny, and Snoopy. Snoopy narrowly defeated Patrick in the final matchup to earn the title of greatest carton character of all time.
